NFB of Illinois Scholarship and Internship Programs

The National Federation of the Blind of Illinois (NFBI) is pleased to announce two great opportunities for blind students. The 2017 NFBI Scholarships are available to legally blind students who reside or attend college in Illinois. Eligible students must be legally blind and must plan to be enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-granting program in the fall semester of 2017. Completed applications must be received by midnight Central Time on March 31, 2017. Please visit the website of the NFB of Illinois at www.nfbofillinois.org for the application.

Legally blind post secondary students are also eligible to apply for academic scholarships through the national program sponsored by the National Federation of the Blind. The NFB offers thirty scholarships ranging in value from $3,000 to $12,000. To learn more and to apply, visit www.nfb.org/scholarships

In addition to the scholarship program, the NFB of Illinois sponsors paid internship opportunities for legally blind students from eleventh grade through college. Students find volunteer opportunities in an area of interest to them, and earn a stipend through the NFBI. This is a great way for blind students to get hands-on work experience and build their resumes! Please visit www.nfbofillinois.org for more information.

We look forward to hearing from you. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
