Promoting Well Being
A new 2-credit elective course will be offered this fall!
OT494 Special Topics “Promoting Wellbeing”, will address mental health and wellness for university students. If you are interested in learning and practicing strategies to help you better manage the responsibilities of the student role, advocating for your needs, and developing new behaviors for a healthy lifestyle, this class may be for you!
This 2-credit course will be offered at the start of the Fall 2018 semester. It will meet once per week. Course topics include: balance, effective goal setting and action planning, mindfulness, prioritizing mental health and wellness, self-advocacy, identity, emotional regulation, relaxation, preventing burnout, effective communication, yoga and more!
We recognize that navigating the student role can lead to burnout and feeling overwhelmed. This course is designed to help you build strategies that will support you in promoting wellbeing for yourself and others.
OT494: Special Topics “Promoting Wellbeing” will be offered:
Tuesdays 2:30-4:20pm in AHSB 717 (CRN 42803) AND
Thursdays 11:30-1:20pm in AHSB 722 (CRN 42802) (register for just one section)
