About
LaShae Flowers is a Staff CART Captioner at the University of Illinois Chicago with 33 years of experience in real-time captioning. As a Registered Professional Reporter (RPR), Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR), and Certified CART Reporter (CRC), LaShae provides Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) services to support UIC’s commitment to access, equity, and student success.
Through real-time captioning of university-level courses, conferences, meetings, and campus events, LaShae ensures Deaf and Hard of Hearing students and community members have full and meaningful access to information and participation in academic life. Her work plays an essential role in advancing inclusive learning environments and upholding the university’s mission to serve a diverse community.
LaShae earned an Associate of Applied Science degree from Southern Illinois University in 1988 and has dedicated her career to expanding accessibility in higher education.
