About

Shannon Moutinho is the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Specialist at the Disability Resource Center.  She served as a program specialist at the Great Lakes ADA Center from 2015-2019 working to promote ADA accessibility and awareness to the Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing and interpreter communities in the Great Lakes region through community outreach and digital media. She is an alumni of Columbia College Chicago’s ASL-English Interpretation program and has worked internationally as a professional and certified freelance sign language interpreter, interpreter mentor, and workshop presenter for more than ten years. She is published in UIC's Disability in American Life: an Encyclopedia of Concepts, Policies, and Controversies.

Shannon's sign name translates directly to "curious" - she is happiest when in a state of exploration.
