Bailey graduated from Concordia University Chicago in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, then from Adler University in 2016 with a dual Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and Art Therapy. She holds Licensed Professional Counselor status in the State of Illinois. She comes to UIC with eight years’ experience in the developmental and intellectual disabilities field, six of which were spent in the non-profit sector. Prior to coming to UIC, she served as a case manager and then as a program manager, which allowed her to work directly with and advocate for individuals with disabilities as well as oversee the programming and services provided to them. Bailey is passionate about disability and social justice issues and is committed to seeing that all of the students she works with are given equitable opportunities to thrive in their educational journeys. Her role as a Disability Services Specialist is to meet with students, taking time to get to know them and understand how their respective disability impacts their functioning, then ensure that they are advocated for and have secured accommodations that will help them succeed at UIC and achieve their educational goals.
In her free time, Bailey enjoys reading books, making art, visiting art museums, going fishing, and playing with her two cats.
