About
Adriana graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in December 2020 with Bachelor of Arts in Human Development & Learning and a minor in English.
As an undergraduate, Adriana took an interest in topics of accommodations and support towards marginalized communities pursuing higher education. As part of her studies, she interned at Resilience (Chicago), a non-profit organization dedicated towards providing resources and support towards survivors of sexual assault, specifically within the organization’s Education & Training Department. She is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Animation with a focus on creating accessible media through subtitles, audio descriptions, and captioning.
As of Spring 2024, Adriana has joined the Disability Resource Center (DRC) team as an Accommodation Support Associate. Her main role at the DRC will be to provide support with scheduling appointments, managing peer note taker requests, and providing clerical support around the office.
Outside of work, Adriana enjoys reading and collecting new books – which all well-versed bookworms know are two separate hobbies, as well as drawing in her sketchbook and sculpting small clay figurines for her friends.
