About
Shari has had diverse careers from theatre and dance, journalism (she has a Masters Degree in Journalism from Northwestern University), nonprofit administration and politics. In addition to working in print and public broadcasting while living in Alaska, Shari worked for a Southeast Alaska state legislator and two governors. Captioning was a mid-life career change for Shari, starting as a freelance captioner in 2015 and then joining the staff at University of Illinois Chicago in January 2022. Shari lives in Galena, Illinois, with her two dogs, Bailey and Louie.
