About

Gail is a passionate long-standing advocate of social justice and a person-centered approach to supporting people. She enjoys lifelong learning and working with educational and nonprofit organizations, recently earning an MBA concentrating in Collaborative Leadership and Project Management. She has supported people with disabilities in many roles as a high school paraprofessional, community/home direct support professional, and as a Service Coordinator for people of all ages at a small agency. Her interest in community-based education and youth programs grew while at the University of Vermont Extension. Prior to the University of Illinois at Chicago, she acted Program Coordinator for College Steps at Southern Vermont College. She earned her undergraduate degree in Anthropology and Latin American Studies from the University of Connecticut, as well as a Certificate in Non-Profit Management and an MBA in Management from Marlboro College Graduate & Professional Studies.

Fun facts: She enjoys gardening, playing piano, science fiction, all forms of art, and supporting humanitarian and animal welfare causes. She is from New England and is very excited to join the UIC community in Chicago!
