Melanie graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago in December 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences, as well as a minor in Disability and Human Development. In August 2023, Melanie received a Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University. Melanie has worked alongside the Illinois Department of Rehabilitation Services, where she specialized in assisting individuals with disabilities, who were seeking employment or seeking to further their education, whether it was attending a community college, university, or trade school. Melanie is a passionate disability advocate dedicated to promoting inclusivity and accessibility.
As a Disability Services Specialist, Melanie is committed to creating an inclusive academic environment by advocating for accessible resources and accommodations. Melanie is honored to be a part of the UIC community where diversity and inclusion is celebrated.
In her free time, Melanie enjoys playing video games, watching movies, traveling, and exploring new restaurants in Chicago.
